1. Introduction and Overview

The video reviews the Huawei Watch Fit 4 and Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro, successors to the Huawei Watch Fit 3. The Fit 3 was considered a highly recommended smartwatch in the 2-3 million VND price range. This year, Huawei introduces a Pro version to the Fit series for the first time. The video focuses primarily on the Huawei Watch Fit 4, with a brief comparison to the Fit 4 Pro. A more in-depth review of the Fit 4 Pro will follow in a later video after more extensive use. The video is sponsored by Huawei. The price of the Fit 4 was not yet officially announced at the time of recording but is expected to be similar to the launch price of the Fit 3.

2. Design and Build Quality

• General Similarities: Both the Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro maintain the square-faced design of the Fit series. The screen bezels are thinner compared to the Fit 3. Many watch faces utilize a black background, minimizing the visual impact of the bezels.
• Huawei Watch Fit 4:
  • Features an aluminum frame with a diamond-cut edge, enhancing its aesthetic appeal compared to the flatter design of the Fit 3.
  • Slightly thinner than the Fit 3.
  • The frame around the screen protrudes slightly more than on the Fit 3, but this does not significantly affect the user experience.
  • Available with a nylon strap version that includes NFC and a red-colored crown.
• Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro:
  • Features a more premium and refined frame design with additional design accents.
  • The crown is slightly larger than that of the Fit 4.
  • The frame is made of aluminum alloy, but the bezel is made of titanium, while the Fit 4 uses aluminum for both.
  • The screen is covered with sapphire glass, while the Fit 4 uses standard protective glass.
• Overall Impression: Both models are considered well-designed and stylish smartwatches suitable for both men and women. The only minor drawback is the desire for even thinner screen bezels. The design is reminiscent of the Apple Watch, which is expected given the square form factor and the presence of a crown.

3. Display

• Both the Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro feature a 1.82-inch display with high resolution, providing excellent visual clarity.
• The refresh rate is 60Hz, ensuring smooth scrolling and animations. This feature was also present in the Fit 3.
• The reviewer expresses satisfaction with the display quality.
• The Fit 4 has a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, while the Fit 4 Pro can reach 3000 nits. The higher brightness is activated in very sunny conditions when the auto-brightness setting is enabled.
• The display area is comparable to that of an Apple Watch, allowing for comfortable viewing of notifications, fitness data, and watch faces.
• The user interface runs on the latest version of HarmonyOS, providing a visually appealing and sophisticated experience similar to that of Apple Watch.

4. Fitness and Health Tracking

• Huawei Watch Fit 4:
  • Accurately tracks health metrics and heart rate.
  • Supports a wide range of sports modes.
  • Water-resistant to 5 ATM, enabling swim tracking.
  • Includes a barometer sensor for measuring altitude and pressure, suitable for hiking and climbing.
  • Adds seven new water sports tracking modes, including rowing, surfing, and paddleboarding.
  • Swim tracking accurately records distance.
  • Heart rate tracking is generally accurate, with a slight difference compared to the Apple Watch Series 10. The Fit 4 tends to report heart rates 1-3 beats per minute lower than the Apple Watch, especially at higher heart rate ranges.
  • Includes emotional awareness and sleep breathing tracking features.
• Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro:
  • Features the newer TruSeen sensor, which is expected to provide even more accurate tracking, similar to the Huawei Watch GT5 and GT5 Pro.
• GPS: Both models feature the Huawei Sunflower Positioning System, which offers improved accuracy compared to standard GPS tracking. The reviewer found the GPS accuracy to be satisfactory during walking tests.

5. Smart Features

• The smart features are largely the same on both the Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro. The Fit 4 Pro has additional features related to golf, which the reviewer does not cover due to lack of personal experience with the sport.
• The reviewer requests that Huawei improve the notification system to display specific icons for all apps, rather than generic icons for unsupported apps like Threads and Shopee.
• Both watches have a built-in speaker and microphone for making and receiving calls. When connected to an iPhone, both regular and third-party app calls are supported. When connected to an Android phone, only regular calls are supported.
• Both watches are compatible with both iPhone and Android devices.
• NFC functionality is only available on the nylon strap version of the Fit 4. All versions of the Fit 4 Pro include NFC. NFC can be used to add access cards for elevators, etc.

6. Battery Life and Charging

• The reviewer reports that after 4 days of use, the Fit 4 had 61% battery remaining. On a day with heavy usage (traveling to and from Hanoi), the battery drained by about 10%.
• Huawei claims that the watches can achieve up to 7 days of typical use and 10 days of maximum use.
• Both the Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro use wireless charging (Qi standard), unlike the Fit 3 which used a proprietary charger. This allows users to use any Qi-compatible charger.
• The watches support fast charging, providing a day's worth of battery life with a 10-minute charge, but this requires using a Huawei charger.

7. Availability

• The Huawei Watch Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro will be officially available in Vietnam on May 29th.

8. Conclusion

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro are promising smartwatches with improved designs, excellent displays, and comprehensive fitness tracking features. The Fit 4 offers a good balance of features and value, while the Fit 4 Pro provides a more premium experience with enhanced materials and sensors. The reviewer plans to release a more detailed review of the Fit 4 Pro after more extensive testing.
