Fire Incident in Da Nang
A significant fire broke out in a container storage area near the Hoa Vang Medical Center in Da Nang. The blaze ignited in the early afternoon of the previous day, rapidly spreading through dozens of containers filled with goods. The fire generated a tall column of black smoke, reaching tens of meters high, accompanied by multiple explosions. The Da Nang police deployed approximately 10 fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. After more than two hours of intensive efforts, the fire was completely extinguished by 4:00 PM, preventing it from spreading further. While no casualties were reported, a considerable number of containers and their contents were destroyed.
Murder Case in Lao Cai
A seemingly minor dispute over a Chinese chess game escalated into a serious criminal case in Lao Cai province. The provincial police have initiated a murder investigation and apprehended Bui Viet Duc, a 39-year-old resident of Lao Cai ward, on an emergency basis. Duc is accused of stabbing a man with a 25 cm knife on Ngo Quyen street. The incident occurred on the morning of November 30th when Mr. Doan Van S, 52, was watching a chess game in front of house number 333. Duc unexpectedly approached and stabbed the victim in the left flank before fleeing. Law enforcement officers and ward police apprehended Duc within 20 minutes of the incident. During interrogation, Duc confessed that prior disagreements and verbal altercations during previous chess games led him to develop a desire for revenge. The victim sustained injuries to his liver, stomach, and lungs. He underwent emergency surgery and is reportedly out of critical condition. The case is currently under further investigation and legal proceedings.
Meteorite Sales Fraud in Lam Dong
Thu Nia, an individual with no stable employment, devised a scheme to defraud people by exploiting the demand for meteorites. Nia advertised on social media, claiming to possess "magical" meteorites inherited from ancestors that were available for sale. Once a potential victim was identified, Nia would send images of the supposed meteorites and demand a deposit or advance payment, promising to arrange a transaction. Subsequently, Nia would cut off all communication and seek new victims to continue the fraudulent activities. Through this method, Thu Nia defrauded numerous individuals in Lam Dong and other provinces, accumulating nearly 1 billion Vietnamese Dong. The Lam Dong Provincial Police have initiated a case and are conducting an investigation.
Seizure of Dried Cao Fruit in Cao Bang
In the final days of November, authorities in Cao Bang province successfully intercepted two separate incidents of illegal transportation of dried cao fruit near the border. A total of over 1.7 tons of goods, along with the vehicles used for transport, were seized. On the early morning of November 27th, in Quang Han commune, law enforcement officers apprehended Le Tien Tung, 35, who was driving a truck carrying 1.4 tons of dried cao fruit. Tung was unable to produce any documentation proving the legality of the cargo. Later, on the evening of November 30th, also in Quang Han commune, authorities discovered and apprehended Ha Cao Thai, 37, who was operating a vehicle transporting 330 kg of dried cao fruit. The relevant units are currently finalizing the case files for legal processing of the individuals involved.
