For over a week, the commune has been implementing an emergency response plan for the prolonged heavy rainfall, urging residents to stockpile food for several days. Despite preparations, prolonged isolation has left thousands of residents awaiting aid. If the isolation continues, it will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the lives of the residents. The situation would become even more unpredictable if the rain returns.

Shipwreck Rescue in Cà Mau

Two crew members of a sunken fishing vessel operating at sea were promptly rescued by border guards and local residents of Cà Mau province on the afternoon of the previous day. The vessel sank while en route to Kinh Hội estuary in Khánh Lâm commune to seek shelter, due to unexpectedly encountering strong waves and winds. The fishing boat took on water and sank approximately two nautical miles southwest of the Kinh Hội estuary. Within an hour of receiving the report, the rescue team reached the sinking site and successfully rescued the two crew members, bringing them safely ashore. The health condition of the two fishermen is currently stable.
