The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam concluded today at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, presided over by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính representing the Presidium. The closing session was attended by former party and state leaders, representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Central Committee members from the 4th to 8th terms, heroic Vietnamese mothers, intellectuals, artists, religious figures, and outstanding youth. Ambassadors, chargés d'affaires, and representatives from international organizations in Vietnam were also present.

Comrade Trần Thanh Mẫn, Chairman of the National Assembly, reported on behalf of the Presidium regarding the outcomes of the first conference of the 14th Central Committee. This included the election of the Politburo, the General Secretary, and the Secretariat’s opinions on personnel for the position of Permanent Member of the Secretariat. The Central Inspection Committee and its Chairman were also elected.

Bầu Tổng Bí thư và Ban Bí thư (Election of the General Secretary and Secretariat)

The 14th Central Committee unanimously voted (180/180 – 100%) to re-elect Comrade Tô Lâm as the General Secretary of the 14th Central Committee. The Central Committee also approved a Secretariat of 13 members, including 10 Politburo members who will be assigned to the Secretariat according to structure. The first Central Conference elected three additional members to the Secretariat:

• Võ Thị Ánh Xuân (Central Committee member – 13th term, Vice President)
• Phạm Thị Thanh Trà (Central Committee member – 13th term, Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister)
• Nguyễn Văn Quảng (Central Committee member – 13th term, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court)

Based on the recommendations of the Central Committee, the 14th Politburo assigned Comrade Trần Cẩm Tú, a Politburo member, to the position of Permanent Member of the Secretariat.

The 14th Central Committee elected the Central Inspection Committee and re-elected Comrade Trần Sĩ Thanh, Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee, as Chairman of the 14th Central Inspection Committee.
