• Azure Databricks & OneLake:
  • GA (General Availability): Unity Catalog can now read data from Fabric’s OneLake without duplication or ETL.
  • Preview: Databricks can now write to Delta tables in OneLake, allowing OneLake to serve as the native storage layer for Databricks. This enables a "single copy" data strategy across AI, reporting, and operational agents.
• Log Analytics Summary Rules (GA):
  • Function: Aggregates massive datasets at defined intervals into summarized tables.
  • Benefits: Improves query performance, reduces costs by allowing raw data to be stored in cheaper tiers while keeping summaries in the analytics tier, and enhances data privacy by stripping sensitive raw details during aggregation.

5. AI and Automation: Copilot Cowork

• Shift in Paradigm: Unlike standard Copilot (an assistant), Copilot Cowork is outcome-based. The user defines the desired result and required artifacts, and the system determines the necessary steps to execute the task.
• Licensing and Cost:
  • Requires a standard per-seat Copilot license as a prerequisite.
  • Operates on a consumption-based model using "Copilot credits."
  • Governance: Includes granular cost controls and tracking at the tenant, group, and user levels, along with a cost estimator tool. It is disabled by default and requires manual activation.
